Inside Alfa: José Moura

 

For our latest Alfa member interview, we met with José Moura from Porto, Portugal. We talked about his 40 years of experience in the logistics industry, starting his own company and the threat of shipping lines for freight forwarders.

 

How did you get started in the logistics industry and what has your journey been like so far?

I started at the airfreight division of a freight forwarder on February 1983, 40 years ago. After working at several freight forwarders, I started my own company in 2001. We always have been a freight forwarder fully dedicated to air and seafreight.

If there is one thing that you could change to the logistics industry, what would it be and why?

Nowadays, the most important thing i would like to change is to stop the advancement of some shipping lines in the freight forwarding field.

How do you set yourself apart from your competitors?

Mainly with a very special tailor-made service with all the attention and care for each service and customer need.

What do you like most about the industry and your job in particular?

Dealing with people from all around the world and face new challenges almost daily.

What do you like the most about being a member of our logistics network?

Establish reliable and trustful relationships. That’s why I never became a member of any of the huge networks with thousands of members.

How do you relax in your free time?

Family, friends, music, reading, some sport and last but not least riding my motorcyle ????
